A Letter From Our New Board

We are writing to introduce ourselves, the new SEIU Local 5 Executive Board, to you and to let you know that the new Local 5 constitution and bylaws were ratified with overwhelming support in the recent membership vote! With this vote SEIU Local 5 members have moved our organization into a new phase with its first democratically chosen Executive Board and its own constitution and bylaws.

Election Update
The nominating period for Local 5 elections closed on Friday, August 22. As each race is uncontested, these candidates are officially elected for the following positions:

President: Steven Ward

Secretary-Treasurer: Patricia Thomas

Arizona State Director: Scott Washburn

Virginia State Director: David Broder

Texas State Director: Norm Yen

An Overwhelming YES!
The votes are in. With an overwhelming 95% YES vote, SEIU Local 5 members in Arizona, Texas and Virgina have ratified our new Constitution and By-laws. This vote establishes Local 5 as a full-fledged member of the SEIU family. Meet our newly-elected Boardmembers
